Welcome to the Kershaw County Flyers.

Located in Camden, South Carolina, the Kershaw County Flyers is an AMA (Academy Of Model Aeronautics) affiliated club devoted to the interest and enjoyment of Radio Controlled Model Aviation.

The club's flying field is adjacent to the Kershaw County landfill on Park Road approximately 7 miles northeast of the city of Camden S.C. and less than a mile north of Goodale State Park.

The site was built on a reclaimed landfill and has a 20'x40' shelter, with a 10'x12' enclosure, and 5 picnic tables. The runway is 800x120' long. On this strip there is a 300x40' asphalt runway with an adjoining 300x80' Hybrid Bermuda Tifton 419 grass strip.

This combination of asphalt and grass gives us a choice of landing strips. In addition there are six designated flying stations and ample tables with AC power for the charging of batteries and other needs.

We have members of all ages and you can generally find someone flying whenever the weather is good, especially in the afternoons. Our members enjoy radio controlled scale models including military, civilian and aerobatic aircraft. Many fly sport and 3D aerobatic planes and helicopters.

In addition to gas and glow engine powered aircraft a number of members also fly electric powered craft and gliders.

Anyone interested in model aircraft is welcome. A number of our members are instructor pilots and are more than happy to work with aspiring RC pilots.
